The Fire Museum of Memphis will host the 25th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony of 9/11 on Friday, September 11, 2026. Service begins at 0830 AM, but it is highly recommended that you arrive early as we are expecting hundreds of people to attend. The museum will offer free admission on that day and our gift shop will feature commemorative items. Light refreshments will be served afterward. Please join us and remember those who died in the attacks on America on September 11, 2001.

Location

The Fire Museum is located in the renovated Fire Engine House #1 at 118 Adams Avenue in Downtown Memphis.

Hours*

Monday– Saturday: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm**

Sundays: Closed with the exception of pre-booked private birthday parties.

*Closed New Year’s Day, MLK Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Day.

** There will be no admittance to the museum later than 3:30 p.m. This ensures that you have enough time to see at least the majority of the museum. We realize that this may be inconvenient for some and it may make some visitors less than happy with the museum. However, we want to make sure that our visitors have the best experience possible when visiting the museum. We also want to make sure that our staff has adequate time to properly close down the museum at the end of the day. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Parking

There are parking lots adjacent to the Museum and limited street parking on Adams. The Museum does not, however, validate parking. Parking on Adams is regulated by parking meters, Monday through Friday, and free on the weekends.
