Updating the Fire Museum
We are well underway with the upgrade of new exhibits at the FMOM. We always are thinking about our visitors, wanting them to have a positive experience here. The new FedEx Fire Room, and AutoZone Educational Center housing the 100 Club Fire Safety House and Safety Maze are on schedule to be completed by June, 2014. The FMOM is working closely with Design 500 on this project. Mind Over Data Custom Software Development is testing the Arcade Room Fire and Safety Games as our deadline of April 1, 2014 approaches for that grand opening.
The FMOM will announce the Shelby County Consolidated School District winner and present the “Turnout” Trophy Award to the winning school bringing the most students to the museum for the past school year. And the museum has an upcoming announcement concerning ground breaking renovations for our Guardsmark Children’s Play Area, thanks to the Plough Foundation. The museum is working with K-Designs in that effort. The museum estimates all the myriad changes will be finished by June 2014.
