The Fire Museum of Memphis lost one of our best friends May 8, 2016.. An art teacher at Treadwell High School in Memphis, TN for many years and renowned local artist, Helen Stahl, created the print of the original Fire House Number 1, the site of our museum, providing us the “seed money,” in 1993, that gave us, the FMOM, our start. Ms. Stahl was 86 years old and leaves behind many Memphis Fire Department admirers. Our cup runneth over with gratitude for her selfless dedication and support throughout the years... Note: Ms. Stahl's father, Tola, was a Memphis Firefighter who served at the old 1's.
Two Great Causes in One: The ServiceMaster/Fire Museum of Memphis Golf Classic is a stop on the Collegiate Players Tour; an amateur tournament designed to provide an affordable, convenient and fun summer golf competition for college age men and women. This is your opportunity to play with these fine college players and help the Fire Museum of Memphis at the same time! Participants will play a day of golf at Memphis National Golf Club (http://www/memphisnational.com/) one of the area’s premier courses. Registration begins at 10:30 AM. Shotgun start at 12:15 PM. Gift bags, door prizes and lunch will be provided, as well as dinner and awards at the end of the day.
