The Fire Museum of Memphis has launched a fundraising campaign that includes a new commemorative brick program. The Fire Museum has begun selling engraved bricks that will be placed in the courtyard of the museum. The bricks can recognize an active or former firefighter, or they can be purchased as a memorial or honorarium. Bricks can also be purchased as a show of support for the Fire Museum or the Memphis Fire Department. For information about purchasing a brick, please go to (Note: there is no www before this web address.)  If you would like to contribute to the fundraising campaign or order a brick over the phone, please call 901-636-5650.

  • The Fire Museum of Memphis named a star, "Memphis Firefighters," located in the Constellation of Perseus, meaning Hero, and made the presentation at Sunday's Memorial Service, honoring our 53 fellow Memphis Firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty. Although a symbolic gesture, the star honors Memphis Firefighters both past and present. The star, “Memphis Firefighters," is registered in the International Star Registry and can be seen telescopically in the Northern Hemisphere at latitudes between plus 90 degrees and minus 35 degrees.  Somewhere out there, beneath the pale moonlight, someone's thinking of you, and loving you tonight!"

The Division of Fire Services will hold its annual Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014,  where we will remember our brothers who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving the City of Memphis.  It is fitting and proper that we commemorate the memory of our fallen as we call each by name while the bell tolls, ensuring they will never be forgotten.

The Division of Fire Services Memorial Service will be held at the Fire Museum of Memphis, 118 Adams Avenue. Free metered parking along the street will be available as well as parking garages/lots nearby. Refreshments will be served after the service.

We look forward to sharing with you on this special day, recognizing and celebrating the unique camaraderie that bind our firefighters together.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call Penny Smith, General Manager, at the Fire Museum of Memphis at 901-636-5650, or email:
