Memphis fire death rate is double the national average.
At the Fire Museum of Memphis your group will discover historical artifacts and interactive exhibits that teach fire safety and prevention. The program lasts one hour. During the Fire Safety Program the participants will:
- Learn the dangers of fire in the FedEx Fire Room.
- Find a safe escape route in the Fire Maze.
- Learn fire safety tips in each room of the Fire Safety House.
- Fight the “flames” of a burning skyscraper from a snorkel basket.
- Hear Ol Billy, a talking horse, tell the history of Memphis fire fighting.
- See exhibits and equipment dating back to the late 1800s.
- Play on fire trucks and slide down a fire pole in the museum play area.
