Welcome to the new and improved Fire Museum of Memphis website, America's Premiere Fire Museum! Due to a grant from FEMA, we have been able to redesign our website and also update some of our fire safety exhibits. Our newest upgrade, The Fire Safety Arcade, is almost complete and in the testing phase. We will be updating the website weekly so please keep coming back to see what is new!

Beginning July 14th the Fire Museum of Memphis will be undergoing its biggest renovation since opening in 1998.  These renovations will take approximately 6 weeks and during this time the museum will be FREE to guests due to the renovation work.

CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC FOR RENOVATIONS:  CHILDREN’S PLAY AREA AND SECOND FLOOR OF OLD ENGINE HOUSE NO. 1.  TOYS ON FIRE IN THE SNOWDEN BUILDING.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we are excited about these renovations and a bigger and better Fire Museum of Memphis in the very new future.

Part of a $481,740 FEMA Grant Award, giving the Museum the ability to track our effectiveness when school children tour the museum through our educational initiative offered at the Museum.

Thanks to the talents of local software developer, Mind Over Data, award winning design firm, Design 500 and the University of Memphis validation and stamp of approval through their Education Department, kids will be entertained playing fun fire and life safety interactive games, while we gather the data of what they have learned, giving us the ability to share with area Fire Departments.
